How can an entertainer get involved?

Call Audrey’s Angels at 602-795-2122 to schedule an audition.

How can a home get these services?

Call Audrey’s Angels at 602-795-2122 for more information. Our representatives will work with the owners or administrators of day care facilities to schedule a visit from one of our angels. The cost is $45 per session. If an owner or administrator books three visits in a calendar month, a fourth visit is free. We can discuss the needs of your residents and the type of experience that would best meet their needs.

What kind of homes qualify for these services?

We serve small group residential homes and adult day care centers in the greater Phoenix area. Many of the seniors we visit have such health challenges as dementia and functional limitations that require extensive staff support.

How did Audrey’s Angels get started?

Audrey’s Angels was established in the Fall of 2001, just a few months after the tragic events of September 11. Audrey and Bob Alderson were deep in the rainforest of Peru when they received news that the Twin Towers in New York City had been struck by terrorists. Unable to return home, this retired couple spent the days following that attack in a remote area, catching only snippets of information on these world-changing events. They seriously wondered whether they would be able to return to the United States safely.

Thankfully, they returned safely to the United States, where their reunion with their family and friends was joyous. Like thousands of others, the events affected Audrey deeply. She wondered, What can I do to make a difference?

At that time, Audrey’s aunt was in a small residential home for seniors in the Phoenix area. The care was excellent, the owners attentive. Yet, Audrey saw a need in the home–a need for socialization. Audrey’s aunt spent much of her day in front of a television, which she could not see well because of failing eyesight. Audrey recognized that owners of these residential homes had little time to do anything but take good care of the residents.

What if we brought in some musicians for the residents? Audrey wondered. The owners would not be able to initiate this kind of program:. They not only lacked the time, but they also had few of the necessary connections to identify and recruit musicians who would be appropriate for this type of venue. In response to this need, Audrey, together with daughter-in-law Linda Alderson and a core group who shared the vision, decided to launch a non-profit that would reach out to seniors by providing music, art and entertainment to residents of the homes.
